The GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® includes both the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® movement methods.
These methods address the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion, and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences.
Some of the benefits of GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® exercises include increased strength and flexibility, renewed energy and vitality and a general sense of calm and wellbeing.

More about the GYROKINESIS® Method

The GYROKINESIS® method is a type of yoga designed to be used in conjuction with GYROTONIC® exercise or on it's own as a complete movement practice. Gyrokinesis works the entire body, without equipment, through a series of waving, spiraling, and undulating movements. The founder of the Gyrotonic system, Juliu Horvath, created the Gyrokinesis method to rehabilitate himself from injuries he had sustained as a ballet dancer. Classes traditionally begin on a stool and then progress to floorwork and standing movement sequences. The movements and postures of the class are fluidly connected through the use of breath, making the exercises appear and feel more like a dance than traditional forms of yoga. In the end, the spine and pelvis are released, and the arms, legs and core are strengthened and stretched, culminating in a sense of wholeness, completeness, and expansion.
